Close tabs without
losing them.
TabSidecar parks the tabs you’ve stopped using, brings your windows back after Chrome restarts, and keeps every tab one search away. It runs in Chrome on your computer.
Auto-Park
Tabs you haven’t touched park themselves.
Pick a limit, from an hour to a few weeks. When a tab sits unused that long, TabSidecar closes it and keeps it under AutoParked, where you can search it and reopen it in one click.
- Pinned tabs never park.
- Locked tabs never park, however long they sit.
- Tabs playing sound never park.
Session restore
AnchoredChrome restarts. Your windows come back.
A crash, a force-quit, an update, a laptop that ran out of battery. TabSidecar keeps a copy of every window as you work and matches each one back when Chrome opens again, with its name, color and locked tabs.
- Named windows first. The windows you named, saved or anchored are listed on top, ready to restore.
- The rest folds away. Untitled windows wait under Other windows. Hide one and it moves to the Closed page.
- Nothing is lost. The Last session page lists every window your last session had, and whether it came back.
Anchor the window you open every morning. When Chrome starts, it comes back on its own, without a click.
Daily is anchored, so it came back on its own.
AI window titles
Windows that name themselves.
Turn on AI window titles and TabSidecar names each window from the tabs in it, like Trip planning or Tax forms. As tabs come and go, it updates the name.
- Your names stay. Rename a window and AI titles won’t change it unless you ask.
- One window at a time. With them off, Generate AI Title in a window’s menu names just that window.
- Names last. An AI title stays with its window when Chrome restarts.
AI window titles are off until you turn them on, during setup or in Settings → Artificial Intelligence. To name a window, TabSidecar sends its tab titles and site names (like github.com) to our AI server, which asks Google Gemini. Never page contents or full addresses. Everything a request holds is in the privacy policy.
A few seconds later, the same window:
Saved Windows
Save a window once. Open it any time.
Your launch-week tabs, your morning reading, the dozen docs a project needs. Save the window and close it. When you need it again, one click opens it with every tab in place.
Opening a saved window doesn’t use it up. It stays saved for next time.
Cloud Sync
New laptop. Same windows.
Sign in and TabSidecar keeps a snapshot of your setup in the cloud, updated every hour. On a new computer or a fresh browser profile, sign in again and import it. Everything comes back the way you left it.
Each device keeps about a week of snapshots, so you can go back to an earlier one. Cloud Sync is optional and stays off unless you sign in.
